Denholm Elliott in The Signalman
Denholm Mitchell Elliott (May 31 1922 – October 6 1992) was a distinguished British actor, well known for his appearances in stage, film & television.
Elliott was innate around London and served in the RAF during World War Two. Around 1942 he was shot down over Germany and spent the rest of the war within the P.O.W. camp. When a war, he mass produced his film debut in Dear Mr. Prohack (1949). He went in to play a big range of area, typically swimming uneffective & once in a while seedy characters, like the journalist Bayliss in Defence of the Realm, the abortionist inside Alfie, and a washed-sunk director in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz. In the 1980s he won three BAFTA awards as better supporting actor for Trading Places, A Private Function and Defence of the Realm, as well as an Academy Award nomination for A Room with a View. He when well became familiar to the wider audience as Dr Marcus Brody inside Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Inside 1988, Elliott was awarded the CBE for his services to acting.
Elliott was married twice, a foremost instance to the British actress, Virginia McKenna, and a 2nd to Susan Robinson, by owning whom he got 2 tykes. Although rumored to become epicene, he died of AIDS which he contracted after the transfusion of infected blood. His widow woman Susan install the charity, European & UK Coalition of Humans Residing using HIV & Helps, inside his memory.
